Hotel "Russiya"
The Hotel "Rossiya" was founded in 1961 by Order No. 52-37-б dd. September 7, 1955 "On New Hotel Businesses in Leningrad" of the Leningrad City Executive Council. Order No. 683-p dd. 13/05/1961 of the Leningrad City Executive Council says: "Whereas a new 612 bed hotel at 163 Moskovsky Prospekt was completed in 1961, now therefore it shall be called the Hotel Rossiya." This is how it all began. For over forty years now guests of St. Petersburg have been enjoying hospitable and warm service. At present the Hotel Rossiya is one of the best three-star hotels in St. Petersburg. The 10-storey building has a total area of 3224.0 m2 and boasts 409 rooms (single, double, and executive rooms, suites, and apartments) for a total of 717 guests. All rooms feature a furniture set, high quality electric home appliances, soft furniture, and special hospitality items, a color TV, a bathroom and a telephone with long distance and international access. Suites and apartments feature a hall and a living room, with mini-bars, hair dryers, and safes also available. The hotel has a round-the-clock room service. At any time at all the guests can summon a taxi, order food from the Restaurant "Golden Apple", visit a sauna and a Russian bathhouse or L'esperance Beauty Parlor. The year 2000 has become a breakthrough year for the hotel, when it went on a tender and an investment program was adopted. Investments in the development of the hotel complex allowed us to: Commence large-scale reconstruction and renovation of the rooms; Open a new Restaurant "Golden Apple" of European and Russian cuisine, which seats 120 guests; 2 cozy cafes, a round the clock bar, a sauna, a European-level beauty parlor, and the Bourgjois Trade Center; Earn a Russian Three Star Hotel Certificate; Obtain Food Service Standard Compliance Certificate; Become a part of Best Eastern Hotels program, which includes best hotels of the Russian Federation, Baltic States, and the CIS, and be included in all international reservation systems. The hotel is located in one of the most fashionable areas of St. Petersburg, on the avenue which is second in importance for the city. Windows face the Victory Park, one of the most picturesque parks of St. Petersburg. Nearby is Park Pobedy (Victory Park) Metro Station. Our neighbors are the Branch Building of the Russian National Library, the Aviator Park, and the Sport and Concert Arena. The hotel is some 15 minutes by car from Pulkovo Airport, and it is only a five minute walk to the Metro. It will take you 25 minutes by car or 4 Metro stations to get to downtown, only some 7.5 km away.
